We are not hard wired for self compassion, it is a skill and can be learned and like all skills it needs to be practiced to be effective. 
During this presentation Self Compassion ~who knew it was an option? we will:
  • Explore What Self Compassion Is
  • Define What Self-Compassion Means for the Individual
  • Learn How to Create a Self- Compassion Practice in Your Life

Research has shown that giving ourselves a break and practicing self kindness is not only personally beneficial but also increases the quality of life for our loved ones.
Self compassion is linked to increased:
  • Self Confidence
  • Optimism 
  • Curiosity and Life Satisfaction 
  • Decreased Anxiety, Stress and Perfectionism  
About our Speaker:
Mary Bermingham LMSW, CDWF, RYT 200 has been a Social Worker for nearly 30 years. In her private practice in Westchester she facilitates the work of Dr Brené Brown and Dr Kristin Neff to support small groups, individuals, couples and families in having more courage, compassion and connection in their lives. 
The primary focus of this work is to become more emotionally resilient through the understanding and practices of self compassion, empathy and vulnerability. About our Speaker 
Nancy Klein was most recently the Chief Marketing Officer at SeriousFun Children's Network, the global network of camps founded by Paul Newman for children with serious illnesses, where she provided leadership, vision and strategy to the development and marketing teams.

Prior to joining SeriousFun Children's Network, Klein served as the Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer at FEGS Health & Human Services where she focused on enhancing brand awareness and creating cultivation and fundraising events targeted at new audiences.
Over a 10-year period, she rose to the position of Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). In this role, she oversaw individual and major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, special events, direct mail and planned giving. Previously, she was a senior vice president at Fleishman Hillard, and worked at M&R Strategic Services.

​Industry Certifications Demystified
CMP & CSEP - what exactly do they stand for? 
Do I need one to further my career? 
What is required to attain this certification? 
Come join EPIC at their November meeting to find out the answers to these questions. We’ll demystify the CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) and CSEP (Certified Special Event Professional) and explain the certification process, what material is covered on the exam, how to prepare and what study options are out there.

Carolyn Browning, CMP, CMM
Organizig and planning seems to be part of Carolyn’s DNA. In her corporate career she managed internal and client meetings and communications for Sprint and GE Capital. After leaving the corporate world and going out on her own, Carolyn focuses her talents on a variety of non-profit and pharmaceutical clients managing their meetings and events.
 
Passionate about meetings and education, Carolyn has spoken at a variety of meetings industry conferences and will start as an Adjunct Professor at Norwalk Community College (NCC) next fall. She has lead study groups for the CMP exam since 1987, assisting over 200 industry professionals earn their certification.
 
Carolyn is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and earned her Certificate in Meeting Management (CMM) in 2013. She is a multiple-award winning member and two-term past president of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) WestField Chapter, a volunteer leader of Senior Professionals Industry Network (SPIN) and an inaugural member of EPIC.
